This is NOVEMBER and it's few days to CHRISTMAS. I can say we are in the season already. How fast time flies... And it is a period of gifts, gifts and more gifts... So today I will quickly share with you how you can run a successful Giveaway...



Social Media Giveaways continue to be popular as long as festive period approaches and as the World Wide Web keeps evolving on daily basis their would be traffic during this period.
Everyone loves getting something for free, people even love some 'brands' because of their freebies or discounts. So people do these giveaways in order to:

-Build Links to their websites /Pages
-Increase Traffic
-Create social Engagement
So all these can lead to brand awareness and get more social engagement.


Let me list out a few steps to an attractive giveaway:


👆 Determine the purpose of the giveaway: Is your purpose to increase social engagement on your social pages, to create brand awareness or as a link building strategy.Whatever goal you chose determines your type of contest and also remember to check your budget.


✌What do you intend to giveaway: Select a giveaway depending on your audience. Select a give away that people would love. Determine the gift or prize to be given


👌How long would the contest run for: This is also important, you need to know how long your contest would run. How many prizes do you wish to give away and in what time sequence; this would determine the duration of your promotion.But remember to start in time.


✊Establish a benchmark: Before you launch your Giveaway, create a document for yourself with your benchmarks.  Here are a few that you can consider:

  • Number of likes on Facebook
    • Number of Google +1’s to the page
    • Number of Retweets to the page
    • Number of inbound links
    • Average monthly visitors
    • Conversion Rate
